“Here and now – hearing and seeing help us to be in the moment and to perceive life in all its diversity and depth.”
My entire professional life is characterized by a profound fascination with seeing and hearing.

After studying medicine, I trained as a specialist in internal medicine in Bremen. Although I was an enthusiastic internist, I soon realized that I wanted to work differently in the long term – more with the human psyche and soul. Initially, I trained as an art therapist in Hanover. After a few detours, I came across the Tomatis method and in 1992/93 I trained in audio-psycho-phonology under the personal guidance of Dr. Alfred Tomatis in Paris. Later I also became a medical psychotherapist. Since 1993 I have been working in my practice in Bremen as a listening therapist and psychotherapist based on depth psychology and trauma therapy.

My listening therapy team and I treat children and adults with a variety of clinical challenges, such as developmental delays, autism, hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis or depressive disorders. Art therapy is also incorporated into our work. Over the years, some of our patients have painted extensive pictures that impressively depict their listening experiences.

Franz Müller and I have been running the Auris Integralis training institute since 2007. In addition to training, we offer annual continuing education courses for listening therapists who have already completed their training.

My great passion is painting. I usually paint using a special technique that I learned from the Japanese artist Meera Hashimoto over many years and then developed further. Since 2001, I have shown my work has been exhibited at home and abroad, including in Hamburg, Worpswede, Mallorca, Italy and New York (www.dirk-beckedorf.com)

“Nothing great has ever been achieved without enthusiasm.” …or friendship.
I have over 20 years’ experience as a psychotherapist and listening therapist in
my own practice. Aside from that I have been both a manager and coach to a team

Aside from that I have been both a manager and coach to a team whose task it has been to reintegrating the long-term unemployed (ALG I + ALG II recipients of unemployment benefits) back into work and society. Outwardly and inwardly, I have “traveled far” with intensive studies in psychology, theology and contemplation, among others. And my journey continues…

“Just be yourself!”
As a therapist trained in Systemic Listening Therapy, I have my practice in our “House for Meditation and Therapy” in Lehmrade, in the middle of the Lauenburg Lakes nature reserve. In my work with listening therapy…

I also integrate the knowledge of my training with the “Inner Family System (IFS)”, the breath and voice work “Natural Voice”, the “Metamorphic Method” and “Zapchen”. Since the inception of Auris Integralis, I have contributed and helped design the training in Systemic Listening Therapy with Dirk Beckedorf and Franz Müller.

“Music, that’s my life!”
After studying music, I sang and worked with music in nursery and primary schools both in groups or individually for many years. ..
After my own children were big enough, I met Gabriele during my “Natural Voice” training. This is also where I learned about listening therapy. It changed my life. I learned to listen to myself more and to go into life with more confidence and strength.
I have also been working at the Evangelical Peace Parish in Berlin for 13 years. I accompany church services with organ, piano, choir and singing groups. Singing together with children and adults is always a source of great joy.
